A34 Wolvercote Viaduct, Oxford

As part of our ongoing works for the National Highways Area 3 Contract, Route One Infrastructure was the Principal Contractor for the full deck refurbishment of the A34 Wolvercote structure. The A34 Wolvercote viaduct carries a dual carriageway across a river, a railway line and the A40 in Oxfordshire.

The project, which was to extend the life of the structure, was planned to take 6 weekend closures to complete, however Route One was able to complete in just four weeks, to the delight of the customer and the travelling public.

Our operatives worked around the clock from Friday evening through to Monday morning each weekend to minimise disruption and Route One had to coordinate not just our own works but other contractors to ensure all works were completed in the agreed weekend closures provided.

This was one of many projects for National Highways the team has completed in the South of England, working to the highest of standards to limit any interruptions to the general public.
